Hey guys,
We are really beginning to understand first hand what it means to trust God because He is faithful. There are many cool stories we can share with you already, and if you check out our blog you will see some that we have already shared. Today i just want to praise God for taking care of us in an awesome way during the long trip to Fort Collins. This is a cool story, so read on!!
I picked up the u-haul on Thursday and immediately drove it to our old apt in Roanoke, TX. My plan was to back into a spot that did not have covered parking so that we could load the truck next our back door. I was aware of the fact that the truck needed 11 foot of clearance in order to not hit anything above it. So as i began to back into the uncovered spot i pulled forward thinking i would get a better angle on it. Of course there was a covered parking spot ahead of me that i was not focusing on and i pretty much tore up that covered parking spot. I was pretty upset with myself to say the least. Anyway i got out to look at it and in my best estimation it would take 3 sheets of sheet metal and a small metal front piece to get it back to it's original condition. I thought it could probably be fixed for around $300. So i went in to the club house and told them what had happened (walk of shame). They told me they would get a quote and send it to me.
So we begin driving toward Colorado on Friday morning, and later that afternoon i received a phone cal from the apt complex saying they got a bid for $1,010. You can imagine my surprise. So of course many thoughts begin to go through my head such as... Here we are raising support and doing the LORD'S work( i am mad at this point) and we are already having to pay for things that we just can't afford at this time. Of course i was thinking this would be a devastating blow especially as we are trying to begin our ministry at CSU.
On the front window of our truck was a reminder written in shoe polish that "we are God Sponsored". Some friends of ours woke up very early Friday morning and wrote encouraging things on the U-Hual and the car. So i prayed about it. My prayer went something like this... God you know i messed it up big time, and this could be detrimental to your plans for us in Fort Collins. I know i don't deserve for you to fix this and bring the price down, but i also know i don't deserve your saving grace, so if you could just bring the price down some how that would be AWESOME.
I received a call the next day from the apt complex saying they had received 2 more quotes. The first was $800 and the second was $450. Ha ha. She said she did not know how the $450 quote was going to work out for the business fixing it, because everyone else was so high. She was amazed by the price difference. I have to say that i was not.
God is faithful and He continues to show himself faithful. 1 Thess 5:24
Then of course He did not stop at that, but we received $450 more than we thought we would this month. Thanks for your prayers for our move. And thanks for your support!
Thanks Father God!
